West Ham’s ongoing defensive struggles this season have prompted the club to consider a January move for Charlie Cresswell as they look to shore up the back line.

In an exclusive interview with Hammers News, injury expert and sports scientist Dr Rajpal Brar played down any concerns surrounding the defender’s fitness.

After reviewing Cresswell’s injury history since the beginning of his professional career, Dr Brar found no cause for alarm.

He explained that there is no reason to expect complications during a medical unless something entirely unforeseen arises.

Dr Brar also highlighted Cresswell’s regular game time this season as a positive indicator, while noting that his previous experience in English football should help ease any transition back to the Premier League.

“He’s been featuring consistently and hasn’t had any major injury problems in recent years,” Dr Brar said.

“That’s a strong sign for clubs considering a move, and it certainly works in his favour.”

West Ham are understood to be in ongoing discussions with Cresswell’s representatives as they explore the possibility of bringing him to the London Stadium.

However, competition is expected, with several other clubs also monitoring the defender’s situation ahead of the winter window.

Despite strong interest, no formal offer has yet been submitted.

Reports from Claret and Hugh suggest that head coach Nuno Espírito Santo is weighing up alternative targets, with Cresswell not currently viewed as the club’s top defensive priority.
