Newcastle United, Everton and West Ham United are all exploring a potential January move for Genoa right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, with interest building from both the Premier League and Serie A.
The 21-year-old defender is also being monitored by Italian giants Napoli and Juventus, while Genoa are believed to be willing to sanction a sale should bids arrive in the region of €20 million during the winter window.
Norton-Cuffy joined Genoa from Arsenal in the summer of 2024 and has quickly become an important figure in the side, registering 19 Serie A appearances this season.
Apart from missing the recent 0-0 draw with Parma due to a minor muscle issue, he has been almost ever-present and one of Genoa’s most reliable performers.
A graduate of the Arsenal academy who also spent time within Chelsea’s youth ranks, the former England Under-21 international is thought to be open to a return to English football.
A move back to the Premier League is viewed as an appealing next step in his long-term development.
Newcastle’s interest is largely fuelled by their current defensive problems.
Eddie Howe is short of options, with Tino Livramento ruled out for up to two months due to a hamstring injury.
Dan Burn, Fabian Schär and Emil Krafth are also sidelined, forcing the Magpies to explore reinforcements to provide cover across the back line.
Everton are similarly keen as they search for a long-term successor to club captain Seamus Coleman.
The veteran right-back only recently returned to the squad after injury, while Jake O’Brien has often been deployed wide and James Garner has filled in out of position.
Everton made an early enquiry in January, with Genoa awaiting a formal offer.
Alternatives discussed include Bologna’s Emil Holm, Cardiff City’s Ronan Kpakio and Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez.
West Ham are also tracking Norton-Cuffy despite already having Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters.
The Hammers have yet to make an official approach but have sent scouts to watch him.
While remaining in Italy is an option, the defender ultimately harbours ambitions of Premier League football.
