ASTON VILLA READY TO ACCEPT SHOCK £38M BID FOR A PLAYER SO ELECTRIC HE’LL MAKE MORGAN ROGERS LOOK LIKE HE’S PLAYING IN SLOW MOTION

Aston Villa Target Allan as Morgan Rogers Replacement Despite Garnacho Arrival

Aston Villa are still looking for ways to strengthen their attack following the record-breaking departure of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.

The £117 million transfer made the 23-year-old the most expensive English player ever, surpassing Jack Grealish’s £100 million move to Manchester City in 2021.

Although Villa were unable to reject such a significant offer due to their financial situation, losing Rogers leaves Unai Emery without one of his most productive attacking players.

The England international contributed 16 goals and assists in the Premier League last season, with only Ollie Watkins producing more for the club.

Villa moved quickly to soften the blow by bringing Alejandro Garnacho in from Chelsea on a season-long loan.

The agreement reportedly contains a mandatory purchase clause based on appearances, potentially costing Villa around £42 million for the Argentine winger.

Garnacho has previously demonstrated his ability in the Premier League, recording 11 goals and 10 assists for Manchester United during the 2024/25 campaign.

However, his time at Chelsea last season raised questions over his consistency.

He scored just once in the Premier League and completed only 34% of his attempted dribbles, placing him among the bottom 25% of forwards in the division.

His crossing numbers were also disappointing, with only 13% of his attempted deliveries finding their target.

Garnacho’s attitude has also attracted criticism, with former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt previously questioning his mentality and suggesting he rose to prominence too quickly.

Despite Emery’s personal desire to work with Garnacho, Villa appear keen to add another attacking option.

Their pursuit has reportedly led them to Palmeiras winger Allan, with ESPN claiming the Brazilian club rejected an initial offer for the 22-year-old.

Palmeiras are reluctant to sell but could reportedly accept a bid of around €45 million (£38 million) before the summer transfer window closes.

Allan has emerged as one of Brazil’s exciting young attackers and impressed during last season’s Copa Libertadores campaign.

His performances have earned widespread praise, while his statistics this season further highlight his potential.

The winger averages 2.7 successful dribbles per 90 minutes, placing him in the top eight percent of forwards in South America.

That figure is more than double Rogers’ average, underlining Allan’s ability to beat defenders with his pace and skill.

He is also fouled 2.3 times per 90 minutes and creates 2.1 chances per game. Allan has produced six goal contributions from just 16 starts this campaign.

While adapting to the Premier League would represent a major challenge, Villa could view Allan as a long-term solution to Rogers’ departure.

Garnacho may have arrived as a potential replacement, but another attacking signing could give Emery a more dynamic option on the left.
