ASTON VILLA READY TO BLOW UP THE TRANSFER WINDOW! They’ve just opened talks for an “UNBELIEVABLE” superstar who is DESPERATE to team up with Aaron Wan-Bissaka… and the deal that could CHANGE EVERYTHING is suddenly ON!

Aston Villa have reportedly opened fresh talks with Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Portugal international has emerged as a potential solution to Villa’s midfield problems, with the club also continuing their pursuit of West Ham United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Villa urgently need reinforcements in midfield following significant setbacks. Amadou Onana is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, while Youri Tielemans has completed a move to Manchester United.

Those departures have left Emery short of options, making Palhinha an attractive target because of his defensive qualities and Premier League experience.

The 31-year-old has made more than 100 Premier League appearances during spells with Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, establishing himself as one of the division’s most effective ball-winning midfielders.

His work rate has also been praised by former Fulham teammate Tim Ream, who previously highlighted Palhinha’s remarkable ability to cover ground and consistently close down opponents.

Palhinha’s greatest strength is his ability to regain possession. During the 2022-23 campaign, he made more tackles than any other player in one of Europe’s major leagues.

He continued to demonstrate those qualities last season, registering 110 tackles in the Premier League at an average of 4.5 per 90 minutes.

That figure was the second-highest in the division, behind only Everton midfielder James Garner.

According to reporter John Townley, Villa remain actively involved in negotiations for Palhinha, who could potentially arrive at Villa Park alongside Wan-Bissaka.

The midfielder is reportedly keen on the proposed move, while Jacob Tanswell has claimed Bayern could be prepared to sell him for around €30m (£26m).

The fee could potentially be structured following an initial loan spell.

Villa have now held further discussions over the Portugal international, although they could face competition from Benfica.

Reports indicate that the Portuguese club have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the midfielder, potentially complicating Villa’s efforts to complete the deal.

Meanwhile, Villa are also working to strengthen their attack. Ollie Watkins has reportedly agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal, increasing the need for Emery to find another striker.

The club have therefore opened talks over a possible move for AC Milan forward Christopher Nkunku.

Emery knows the Frenchman well from their time together at Paris Saint-Germain and is believed to be a keen admirer.

AC Milan are reportedly willing to allow Nkunku to leave for around £30m, a figure Villa could afford.

However, questions remain over whether he would be the right replacement for Watkins after scoring only seven Serie A goals last season.
