Report: Tottenham set to initiate talks to sign ‘unique’ £60m star within the next two weeks
Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to initiate negotiations for a key transfer target in the next two weeks, seeking to outmaneuver their rivals in securing his signature.
Spurs have confirmed that Timo Werner will remain on loan in North London for another year. However, they appear eager to further bolster their attacking lineup.
Under the management of Ange Postecoglou, Spurs showcased some of the finest football this past season. However, injuries hampered their progress after a strong start.
It is, therefore, unsurprising that they are looking to acquire one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents.
According to Football Transfers, Tottenham is gearing up to intensify their efforts to sign Eberechi Eze, aiming to commence discussions over a potential deal within the next fortnight.
Eze believes he has an understanding with Crystal Palace that allows him to leave Selhurst Park this summer if a club offers £60 million. Predictably, Palace manager Oliver Glasner is not interested in considering any lower offers for the England international.
Tottenham hopes to position themselves favorably by making an early bid for the 25-year-old.
Eze is among several players who have thrived at Palace after moving from the EFL. He has contributed directly to 41 goals in 112 Premier League matches, including 11 goals this past season.
Rio Ferdinand has previously described Eze as ‘unique’ and praised his individual brilliance, suggesting that Tottenham fans would be thrilled to see him alongside James Maddison and Heung-min Son.
Eze is not the only attacking player on Spurs’ radar this summer. TBR Football recently reported that Tottenham is among the clubs offered the chance to sign Raphinha from Barcelona.
Raphinha’s future at Barcelona is uncertain, as the club is open to selling the £50 million winger to generate funds. He is well-acquainted with the Premier League, having excelled during his two years at Leeds United.
Should Spurs manage to sign both Eze and Raphinha this summer, they would be the envy of many Premier League teams. Having these two talents operating behind the striker would significantly enhance their attacking prowess.
