Insider Confirms Tottenham Player’s Potential Move to English Club This Summer

Tottenham insider John Wenham believes that Joe Rodon could still move to Leeds this summer, despite the club’s failure to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Rodon has previously expressed his comfort and desire to remain at Leeds (The Mirror), but his chances of a permanent move to Elland Road were severely impacted when Daniel Farke’s team lost the Championship playoff final to Southampton.

Recently, The Daily Mail reported that Leeds are in a precarious financial situation due to their failure to immediately return to the Premier League. The club faces losses exceeding £100 million and must sell some players to offset these losses.

Given these financial constraints, a permanent deal for the Wales international from Tottenham seemed unlikely.

The publication also noted that several Premier League clubs are now keeping an eye on the 26-year-old’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite this, Wenham believes that Rodon will still end up at Leeds, suggesting that the Championship club will finance the move by selling some of their assets.

He told Tottenham News, “I expect Leeds will make sales this summer and raise some money. But it was a big blow, that transfer would have 100 per cent been done if Leeds had been promoted.

“I do still think Rodon will join Leeds, but it won’t be as straightforward as it could have been. It will rely on other players being sold first whereas I think the bid would have already gone in had they been promoted.”

It wouldn’t be surprising if Rodon is swayed by interest from Premier League clubs in the coming weeks.

The defender might not be willing to wait and see if Leeds can gather the necessary funds to finalize a move for him.
