Leicester City might be compelled to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall if a £30 million bid is made this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Brighton and Brentford, both interested in Dewsbury-Hall during the January transfer window, could renew their pursuit.
In April, Football Insider reported that Brighton plans to bid for the 25-year-old following his impressive form last season. The English midfielder was crucial in helping Leicester secure an immediate return to the Premier League by winning the Championship title.
O’Rourke suggested that Leicester might have to sell Dewsbury-Hall after announcing a £90 million loss in their latest financial accounts. Dewsbury-Hall is under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2027.
The Nottingham-born midfielder has been with Leicester for 18 years, joining their academy in 2006 before advancing to the first team. Since his debut in January 2020, he has scored 17 goals and provided 20 assists in 129 appearances.
Last season was Dewsbury-Hall’s best, with 12 goals and 14 assists in 43 games, playing a key role in Leicester’s title-winning campaign. O’Rourke noted that Dewsbury-Hall is the club’s most sellable asset, and numerous clubs will likely be interested if he becomes available for transfer.
This possibility arises as Football Insider reported on 12 June that Leicester could lose multiple players this summer to balance their finances. The club is already facing a potential points deduction next season due to a breach of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, for which they were charged in March.
