REPORT: Leeds United Confront Another Midfield Transfer Choice as French Club Inquires

Rennes are reportedly preparing a bid for Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara, as per French reports from L’Equipe. The Ligue 1 club sees the former Rangers player as a target amid their preparations for potential departures.

Leeds is dealing with significant interest in their squad following their failure to secure Premier League promotion last season. Brentford has made a bid for Archie Gray, while Tottenham is pursuing a move for the Leeds youngster. Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter, and Willy Gnonto have also been linked with moves away from Elland Road.

Meanwhile, Rennes has already lost Nemanja Matic and Fabian Rieder, and Enzo Le Fee is expected to join them in departing, with Roma poised to make a move. This has prompted the French side to seek reinforcements in midfield.

Kamara, a 28-year-old Finland international, is reportedly their target, with a potential fee around £5 million. He joined Leeds from Rangers last summer and initially secured a regular place in midfield under Daniel Farke.

Although he was sidelined towards the end of the season, Kamara returned to the starting lineup for the play-off semi-final against Norwich and the final at Wembley against Southampton, totaling 42 appearances last term.

Leeds could face further departures, including Gray and potential interest in Ilia Gruev from Borussia Dortmund. Ethan Ampadu could potentially move into midfield, but additional defensive signings may be required, given his predominant use in central defense last season.
