Tottenham May Compete with Arsenal for £60m-Rated Attacker This Summer

Tottenham may compete with rivals Arsenal for Wolves winger Pedro Neto’s signature.

Ange Postecoglou aims to bolster his attack ahead of next season as he targets a top-four finish in his second year in charge. Despite an impressive performance in the final third last season without record goal-scorer Harry Kane, who moved to Bayern Munich, Postecoglou believes they need more firepower to compete with the top teams in the league.

Tottenham plans to sign a new number nine and a winger this summer, with Pedro Neto among their targets. According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are prepared to rival Arsenal for the Portuguese international’s services.

Mikel Arteta is also focused on strengthening his attack as he aims to end Arsenal’s Premier League title drought. The Gunners have been monitoring Neto and have engaged in discussions with his agency. Despite Arsenal’s long-standing interest, they will face competition from Tottenham for his signature.

While Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is Tottenham’s top target, they will shift their focus to Neto if they fail to sign the England international. Tottenham’s recruitment team is impressed with Neto’s pace and creative ability, believing he could thrive under Postecoglou.

Wolves are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old, who contributed 14 goals last season. With three years remaining on his contract, they seek a minimum of £60 million. However, his asking price has dropped since January due to an injury and could decrease further if Neto pushes for a transfer. Despite the £60 million asking price, interested parties might secure Neto for as low as £50 million.
