Report: Everton Interested in £3m Defender Who Scored Stunning Goal Against Brazil at Copa America
Everton aims to strengthen their defense this summer after securing a midfielder and forward.

Sean Dyche’s side ended the 2023/24 campaign on a high note, comfortably steering clear of the relegation battle.
The Toffees have already bolstered their squad with striker Iliman Ndiaye and midfielder Tim Iroegbunam in recent weeks.
Now, the focus shifts to strengthening their defense, especially after Ben Godfrey’s departure to Atalanta.
Everton has reportedly inquired about a promising defender who impressed at the Copa America this summer.
Despite last season’s overall performance, defense was not a weak point for Everton. In fact, their defense was among the strongest, with only the top three teams conceding fewer goals than Dyche’s side (51).
With Godfrey’s departure, however, Everton needs to add depth to their defensive lineup. While Godfrey was not a first-choice option for Dyche, having quality players to rotate and cover for injuries is crucial for the team’s success.
According to Versus, Everton is interested in Getafe center-back Omar Alderete, who impressed at Copa America. The Paraguayan defender joined Getafe permanently last summer from Hertha Berlin in a deal worth around £3 million.
However, Sevilla is also reportedly keen on the 27-year-old and may be in a position to make a formal offer.
If Alderete brings his Copa America form to Merseyside, Everton could secure an exciting addition to their squad.
