Leicester City Strike ‘Agreement’ for Impressive €30m Transfer

Leicester City have reportedly agreed on a €30 million fee with Juventus for the transfer of Matias Soulé, following the rejection of a previous bid, according to Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale. However, Soulé has expressed a preference to join AS Roma, although West Ham have also shown interest in him.

The 21-year-old Argentina youth international began his career at Velez Sarsfield in his home country before moving to Juventus’ academy in 2021. He later advanced to Juventus’ ‘Next Gen’ side and made his first-team debut against Salernitana in September 2021.

Last season, Soulé was loaned to Serie A side Frosinone, which was relegated to Serie B. Despite the team’s struggles, he impressed with 11 goals and three assists, attracting attention from several European clubs.

Soulé’s playing style has been likened to that of Argentine stars Ángel Di María and Paulo Dybala.

In a 2023 interview with Italian publication TMW, his agent noted: “The comparison with Di María is flattering, but Fideo is a well-established, World Champion player, whereas Mati is still emerging.

He’s the second-best in Serie A for completed dribbles despite only playing four games. If he had played six, he might have been first.”

The agent emphasized that while comparisons can help understand a player’s qualities, Soulé is a unique talent with a profound passion for football.

Leicester City have already secured winger Abdul Fatawu but are seeking additional attacking options.

Soulé, who typically plays in a similar position, would provide valuable depth on the wings, which manager Steve Cooper will likely prioritize.
