Sky Sports: West Ham Interested in 24-Year-Old Todibo and Tomori Alternative, Who Dreams of Premier League Move

West Ham United are exploring alternatives to Jean-Clair Todibo in their search for a new central defender, as revealed by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Hammers have identified AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori and RB Salzburg’s Oumar Solet as potential options if they fail to secure the Nice defender in the coming weeks.

Sheth reports that West Ham are ‘playing the waiting game’ on Todibo, who prefers a move to Juventus this summer. While the East London club has agreed on a deal with Nice for the Frenchman, progress has stalled as Juventus are also in negotiations with the Ligue 1 side.

Following the announcement of Max Kilman’s arrival earlier in the window, West Ham shows no signs of halting their transfer market activities this summer.

They are targeting two additional defensive signings, including a right-back, with Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters and Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka on their radar.

In their search for a new central defender, West Ham is considering RB Salzburg’s Oumar Solet. The 24-year-old Frenchman has attracted interest from across Europe after a solid season in Austria, despite minor injury setbacks. Solet, a key player in Salzburg’s title challenge, has just 12 months remaining on his current contract and could depart Austria four years after joining from Lyon in 2020.

Last year, the France U20 international expressed his admiration for the Premier League and openness to moving to ‘every top league’ across Europe.

Solet also cited ex-Chelsea veteran Thiago Silva and Real Madrid icon Sergio Ramos as his footballing heroes. During his four seasons with RB Salzburg, Solet made 106 appearances, scored four goals, and registered five assists, leading the club to three consecutive league titles before they lost the Austrian Bundesliga crown to Sturm Graz in the previous campaign.

Additionally, West Ham United has entered the race to sign Juventus winger Matias Soule, joining the likes of Leicester City and Roma, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Soule, valued at around £30 million by Juventus this summer, is coming off a breakthrough season in Italy, scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances while on loan at Frosinone.

Despite being the club’s top scorer, Soule was unable to prevent Frosinone’s relegation, as they finished 18th in Serie A.

The Argentinian winger, speaking to the media earlier this year, admitted it ‘would be a dream’ to play in the Premier League. This has likely intensified interest from several English clubs.
