Sean Dyche Reveals Everton’s Next Transfer Target and Comments on Amadou Onana’s Transfer Fee

Sean Dyche revealed he aims to bring more experience to Everton during the remainder of the summer transfer window.

Despite financial challenges, the Toffees have conducted shrewd business so far. Amadou Onana was sold to Aston Villa for £50 million, Lewis Dobbin joined Unai Emery’s side for £10 million, and Ben Godfrey moved to Atalanta for a similar fee.

Meanwhile, Everton have added five players to their roster. Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jake O’Brien have been signed on permanent deals, while Jack Harrison has been re-signed on loan from Leeds United, and Jesper Lindstrom has joined for the season from Napoli.

However, all except Harrison lack Premier League experience. Dyche acknowledges that securing more deals may be challenging but emphasizes the importance of adding seasoned players to the squad.

After Everton’s 3-0 pre-season friendly win over Preston North End, Dyche was asked by LiverpoolWorld if he wants more experienced players to join Everton.

He responded: “If we can. These are good players who I believe will develop further, but it’s a different demand when the real stuff starts in the Premier League.

That’s always the challenge for players when they haven’t done it before. The quicker we can get them involved, the quicker we can hit the ground running.

“People need to remember these are young players who mostly haven’t experienced the Premier League.

There’s a demand for them to hit the ground running, but the broader strategy of the club, like getting good money for Onana and spreading that through certain deals and loans, is something we can manage.

“We look at the signs and think, ‘OK, these are good signs,’ but it’s still only signs. These players haven’t played in the Premier League—trust me, it’s a whole different demand when the real stuff starts.

But we believe they have what it takes to understand and learn quickly.”
