Everton Intensify Search for ‘Top Talent’ to Fill Transfer Position

Everton are searching for a new scout as they aim to strengthen their presence in European markets.

The club seeks a senior European specialist to maintain coverage of crucial leagues under the direction of football director Kevin Thelwell.

The new scout will lead Everton’s efforts in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. In recent summers, the club has targeted players from the Portuguese and Italian markets, such as Youssef Chermiti, whom they signed from Sporting due to his potential as a future star.

Chermiti, a 20-year-old forward, made a notable impact at the end of last season. He began pre-season as a standout player, scoring twice and assisting Mason Holgate in a match against Sligo Rovers.

He also won the free-kick that James Garner converted at Salford City, demonstrating his effectiveness off the bench.

Unfortunately, a foot injury has since hindered his progress, preventing him from being involved at the start of the upcoming season.

Additionally, Everton signed Jesper Lindstrom on loan from Serie A side Napoli this summer, and Portuguese striker Beto from Italian club Udinese last year.

The search for a new scout follows an internal shift and underscores the club’s commitment to closely monitoring these markets.

The scout will be responsible for identifying top talent and will need to keep an eye on lower divisions and youth teams in the targeted countries.
