Leicester City Announce 11 New Contracts, Paving the Way for Academy Talent

Leicester City has announced the signing of professional contracts with several promising young talents just ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Foxes have a strong track record of developing academy players who have successfully transitioned to the first team and made significant contributions.

This latest group of rising stars is now tasked with following in the footsteps of players like Harvey Barnes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Ben Chilwell, who have played key roles in Leicester’s recent successes before moving on, earning the club substantial transfer fees.

Steve Cooper’s senior squad already features several academy graduates, including Ben Nelson, Kasey McAteer, and Hamza Choudhury, who are poised for Premier League action.

The new wave of talent includes Kian Pennant (20), Joshua King (17), Kevon Gray (17), Liam McAlinney (18), Toby Onanaye (18), Stevie Bausor (18), and Tommy Neale (18).

All of these players are from Leicestershire, and many have been with the club since they were eight years old.

In addition to these seven, Bobby Amartey (18), former Manchester City player Jayden Joseph (18), Chris Popov (19), and former Arsenal and Chelsea winger Amani Richards (19) have also signed professional contracts with the club.

Leicester’s academy, which won the Under-16 Premier League Cup last season, has undergone changes this summer.

Ben Petty, the club’s development squad manager, has left to join Birmingham City as the assistant manager of their first team.
