Leeds United Should Be Convinced by New £9m Price Tag to Pursue ‘Incredible’ Attacker – Opinion

Yes, Leeds scored three goals, but they could have easily doubled that number.
The Whites hit the bar three times in the first 10 minutes and missed numerous other chances, including Brenden Aaronson’s late golden opportunity.
The USA star had just equalized with a brilliant touch and finish in the 95th minute, leveling the score after Portsmouth’s 92nd-minute penalty.
Despite being through on goal, he somehow missed the target, squandering the chance to secure a 4-3 victory.
Leeds should have scored many more goals, which would have rendered Portsmouth’s three goals insignificant. While Mateo Joseph impressed, Leeds appeared to lack a natural goalscorer.

New £9m price tag should convince Leeds to make a move
Recent reports indicated that Leeds were among the clubs vying for Ireland star Sammie Szmodics, with a move away from Blackburn seeming likely.
This comes after his incredible goal-scoring spree last season, which earned him the Championship’s golden boot.
Ipswich are currently the frontrunners to land the 28-year-old, who excels as a number 10 but can also play as a striker.
According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Ipswich have bid £8.5m, just £500,000 short of Blackburn’s £9m asking price. This should prompt Leeds to consider making a move.

Kris Boyd has urged Leeds to sign Sammie Szmodics this summer
Not only is £9m a bargain for a player with Szmodics’ stats from last season, but the “incredible” star also guarantees goals at this level. While you can’t buy promotion, signing Szmodics is the next best thing.
With the number of chances Leeds create, a forward like Szmodics could easily score 20 goals, significantly boosting their promotion chances.
Leeds lost a key player in Crysencio Summerville, and his absence must now be filled.
Kris Boyd, who watched Leeds’ recent match, noted that while The Whites created numerous chances, they didn’t seem likely to score.
He recommended Szmodics as a potential signing, especially after the player scored one goal and created another on Friday.
Boyd said, “Get a striker like Sammie Szmodics. Can you get him maybe? Go and get someone because they created loads of opportunities, but I will be honest with you, they never really looked like scoring.”
