“Exceptional Talent” | New Hammer Signing Receives Major Boost

Summer signing Crysencio Summerville was a standout at the 2024 PFA Awards, winning the Championship Player of the Year title for his exceptional performances during the 2023/24 season.

The West Ham winger made an immediate impact with an impressive substitute appearance against Aston Villa over the weekend, but it was his outstanding form last season that earned him the prestigious honor.

Since joining Leeds United in 2020, the 22-year-old steadily made his mark, enjoying a breakout 2022/23 campaign with four goals in 28 Premier League appearances.

Despite Leeds’ relegation that season, Summerville became a key player, leading the charge for an immediate return to the top flight.

He contributed 21 goals and ten assists across all competitions, guiding the team to the Play-Off final, where they narrowly missed promotion.

His remarkable performances attracted interest from top clubs, with West Ham securing the Netherlands U21 starlet in early August.

Now wearing the No. 7 shirt, Summerville was also named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.

He made his first appearance in Claret and Blue during the Betway Cup win over RC Celta de Vigo before debuting competitively for the Irons against Aston Villa in their Premier League opener.
