Report: Leeds’ £25m Bid for Star Accepted, but Deadline Day Deal Fell Through Due to an Issue

Leeds United had a £25 million bid accepted in the final moments of the summer transfer window, but a deadline day deal ultimately fell through for Daniel Farke due to a critical issue.

Leeds Spend £25 Million During an Underwhelming Summer

Daniel Farke and his team are left disappointed after an underwhelming transfer window, despite spending £25 million on eight new signings.

These include defender Joe Rodon, winger Largie Ramazani, right-back Jayden Bogle, Japanese midfielder Ao Tanaka, left-back Isaac Schmidt, goalkeeper Alex Cairns, midfielder Joe Rothwell, and winger Manor Solomon on loan from Spurs.

While Leeds have brought in a significant number of players, it remains questionable whether they have adequately replaced the key stars who departed Elland Road over the summer.

Crysencio Summerville, who completed a multi-million-pound move to West Ham, will be greatly missed after scoring 20 goals in 46 Championship appearances last season.

Additionally, Georginio Rutter’s departure to Brighton leaves Farke searching for someone to replicate his 7 goals and 15 assists from 48 Championship games last season.

Alongside these departures, promising English talent Archie Gray moved to Tottenham, prompting a heartfelt statement from Leeds.

Other notable exits included Marc Roca, Charlie Cresswell, and Glen Kamara, further depleting the squad.

Leeds made efforts to bring in more players as the transfer window deadline approached.

Reports suggested they were considering a late bid for Bachir Belloumi, who eventually joined Hull City, after securing last-minute deals for Schmidt and Tanaka.

Leeds Agreed on a £25 Million Deal for Martin Baturina

According to Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti, Leeds had agreed to a £25 million deal to sign Martin Baturina from Dinamo Zagreb, with Dinamo accepting their bid.

However, the deal fell apart on deadline day, preventing Farke from completing the signing and further strengthening his squad.
