West Ham Defender Aaron Cresswell Could Miss 12 Weeks Due to Hamstring Injury, Says Dr. Rajpal Brar
Injury expert Brar explains that it is difficult to assess Aaron Cresswell’s situation, as Julen Lopetegui mentioned the setback occurred during training but provided no clear return date.
While scans will offer more clarity, at present, all possibilities remain open.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Science, said:
“It’s hard to gauge the severity without any specific update.
The description alone, mentioning a hamstring injury during warm-up, doesn’t give much insight.
In the worst-case scenario, a Grade 4 full rupture would require surgery and a 12-week recovery period.
“He’s likely undergone scans, which will give more details, though we’re not privy to that information.”
Cresswell, now 34, is expected to play a smaller role at West Ham.
His age and ongoing fitness concerns have made it difficult for him to remain a regular starter.
Last season, he managed only 11 Premier League appearances and may not remain with the club beyond the next year.
His current contract expires at the end of the season, and so far, Lopetegui has seen little to suggest offering him a new deal is warranted.
