Before securing Armando Broja on loan, Everton also considered David Datro Fofana as a potential replacement if Calvert-Lewin were to leave.
Now, it seems that manager Sean Dyche and Director of Football Kevin Thelwell may have avoided a misstep, as the Chelsea youngster is on the verge of joining another club.

The Toffees contemplated the move regardless of Calvert-Lewin’s future, similar to their approach with Broja.
However, Fofana’s lack of Premier League experience might not have sat well with Everton fans.
With Yousef Chermiti and Beto already available, adding another forward who has struggled to make an impact in English football seemed unnecessary.
Now, the 21-year-old is expected to move to AEK Athens, reflecting his current level as a player.
In hindsight, missing out on this signing might be a blessing in disguise for Everton, as Fofana may not have been the ideal fit for the club at this time.
