“RANGERS’ TRANSFER FRENZY UNLEASHED! Sky Sports Drops BOMBSHELL: Club in Talks to Snag ‘LIGHTNING-FAST’ Winger with Gassama in EPIC Double Swoop!”

Rangers have reportedly initiated contact with Austrian side Wolfsberger AC regarding a potential deal to sign winger Thierno Ballo, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Ibrox outfit have already had a very active summer, appointing Russell Martin as their new manager following Barry Ferguson’s interim stint, and completing several key signings.

So far, Max Aarons, Lyall Cameron, Joe Rothwell, Emmanuel Fernandez, Thelo Aasgaard, and Nasser Djiga have all joined the club.

Despite the influx of talent, Rangers remain in the market for attacking reinforcements and have now set their sights on Ballo.

The 23-year-old Austria international enjoyed an impressive 2024/25 season with Wolfsberger AC, contributing ten goals and six assists in 31 appearances.

Known for his speed and flair, Ballo’s performances have sparked interest from across Europe, with Ajax and Mainz also making enquiries about his availability.

While no final decision has been made, Wolfsberger expect the winger to depart this summer and negotiations with interested clubs are ongoing.

Rangers are particularly keen to add more attacking potency from the wide areas and see Ballo as a strong fit.

Ballo isn’t the only wide option on the radar. Rangers are also monitoring Sheffield Wednesday winger Djeidi Gassama, who is said to have agreed personal terms, with discussions between the clubs ongoing.

In addition to reinforcing the wings, the club is targeting a new centre-forward.

Reports suggest that former Leicester City star Jamie Vardy is being considered as a potential option to bolster the attacking line ahead of the new season.
