Everton have finalized a deal to secure the services of a 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who has committed to a five-year contract at Goodison Park. The club reportedly agreed to a fee of around £17 million, inclusive of add-ons, which Marseille has accepted.
Despite reaching this agreement earlier, Everton delayed registering the signing last month, largely due to navigating the Premier League’s intricate financial rules. This delay sparked concern among fans, but according to reliable reports from Alan Myers, there’s no need for alarm.
Responding to a fan’s inquiry on X, the Sky Sports journalist reassured, stating, “Think it’s just getting done to be honest.” In another tweet, Myers indicated that while he lacks a specific update at the moment, confirmation is expected imminently.
A recent report from TeamTalk asserted that the transfer is fully completed, pending only official confirmation. Ndiaye, the prospective signing, promises to bring excitement to Everton. Although his tenure at Marseille didn’t unfold as planned, his successful stint at Sheffield United, where he tallied 14 goals and 10 assists in 46 Championship games, convinced Everton of his versatility.
Capable of playing as a striker, second striker, or wide attacking midfielder, Ndiaye could serve as a valuable asset under Sean Dyche’s management. His impending arrival marks Everton’s third acquisition of the summer transfer window, following the signings of Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa and the loan of Jack Harrison from Leeds United.
