In the meantime, journalist Alan Myers has offered his take on a player recently linked with a potential move to Everton—Tyrese Campbell.
Campbell, currently with Sheffield United, has been enjoying a productive season in the Championship.
The 25-year-old forward has scored 10 goals from 18 starts and 29 total appearances. Notably, he’s been in excellent form over the last month, scoring four times in his past seven outings.
His recent performances earned him the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for March, further raising his profile.
Responding to a question on X (formerly Twitter) from an Everton fan on April 9, Myers said he’d “love to see it for personal reasons,” but added that a potential move would depend on Sheffield United’s promotion hopes.
The personal connection Myers referred to is with Kevin Campbell, Tyrese’s late father, who passed away in June 2024.
Kevin Campbell was a beloved figure at Everton, where he spent seven seasons and earned fan-favourite status.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin expected to leave the club soon, Everton will likely be in the market for more attacking options.
Moyes has done well with the current squad, but reinforcements up front are clearly needed.
Tyrese Campbell may be somewhat unpolished, but his recent form suggests real promise and attacking threat.
However, if Sheffield United secure promotion to the Premier League, a move for the forward could become highly unlikely.
