While Alex Cora addressed the media postgame, Casas was undergoing further tests. Cora expressed concern about the condition of the young first baseman, stating, “No, he’s not doing OK… we’re checking on him, we’ll know more over the course of the night.” Casas indicated to the dugout that he could play defense but would need someone to hit for him.
The exact moment of Casas’s injury during the at-bat remains unclear, but his final swing before the walk appeared awkward.
