Newcastle United fans, led by Alexander Isak, were quick to extend their congratulations after Anthony Elanga completed his move to the Magpies.

Shortly after arriving, Elanga got to work at Newcastle’s training ground and introduced himself to the Geordie faithful with a brief message: “I’m a Geordie now! Happy to be here at this great club but, more importantly, I’m ready. Can’t wait to see you all. Let’s get to work!”

Teammates were quick to welcome him. Isak responded with heart emojis, Joelinton commented, “Welcome to the family bro,” while Bruno Guimaraes also extended a warm greeting.

Jacob Murphy, a likely competitor for the right-wing position, jokingly wrote, “Finally,” as Elanga settled into his new surroundings.

The 23-year-old becomes Newcastle’s first signing for the right-wing role since the Saudi-backed takeover in 2021.
