Finance Expert: Rangers Might Need to Sell Key Players Regardless of Takeover.

As 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh push forward with their plans for a takeover, the Bears are preparing for another major overhaul of their playing squad.

After a disappointing season on the field, which was only somewhat salvaged by their Europa League campaign, significant changes are expected both on the pitch and within the boardroom.

In an exclusive interview with Ibrox News, he commented, “Absolutely,” when asked if selling Raskin and Igamane might be a necessity.

However, he also emphasized the financial constraints faced by Scottish clubs.

“Even with the positivity around the new takeover and investment, you can’t just open a blank cheque in football anymore; that just isn’t the case, particularly in Scottish football.

Rangers will be boosted by the Europa League money this season, which could help fund transfer activity, but some of that money will have to come from player sales as well.”

Plumley also highlighted the challenges of the Scottish market, where record fees are rare.

“If you get such offers for these players, considering some of the highest transfer fees in Scottish football, it would be difficult to refuse.

While new faces are likely to arrive, I think some exits will be necessary to balance the financial books.”

Rangers are preparing for a transformative summer, and if they manage to secure £40 million or more from the sale of both Raskin and Igamane, there would likely be no complaints.

With interest from top clubs like Tottenham and Newcastle, selling at the peak of their market value might be the prudent move.

This is the harsh reality of the situation, and one that the club must navigate carefully.
