Amazingly, Journalist Hints West Ham Could Still Secure Explosive Premier League Star Before Deadline Day

West Ham United Reportedly Still in the Race to Sign a Dynamic Premier League Star This Summer

Julen Lopetegui has been relentless in his summer transfer activity, already bringing eight new players to West Ham.

The fans are buzzing with excitement about the future, and Lopetegui isn’t done yet—he’s still eyeing additional signings to further strengthen the squad.

West Ham now boasts a talented roster under Lopetegui’s management.

While the team may have lost their opening game of the season, there’s a strong sense that once everything falls into place, the Hammers will pose a serious challenge to every team in the league.

Securing one or two more top-class players would be the perfect way to cap off an impressive summer transfer window.

Remarkably, one particular player, who was previously on the club’s radar, could still join West Ham.

Journalist Hints at Possible Jhon Duran Move to West Ham

Earlier in the summer, Jhon Duran appeared destined to join West Ham before the club signed Niclas Füllkrug.

West Ham had reportedly been willing to pay £30 million for Duran, but Aston Villa were holding out for closer to £40 million.

The Colombian international was West Ham’s top transfer target for a while, and it seemed almost certain he would make the move to the London Stadium before the club shifted its focus to the German forward.

Surprisingly, it now appears that a deal for Duran may still be on the table.

Gregg Evans of The Athletic highlighted that Duran’s future at Villa Park is far from settled.

Speaking on the 1874 podcast, Evans said, “Let’s get this clear now, we still don’t know what’s going to happen with Jhon Duran.

It would be foolish of us—or anybody outside of his inner circle, I would say—to predict what’s going to happen, because he’s the most unpredictable human being I’ve dealt with for a while.

Anything can happen still in the couple of weeks left of the transfer window. We don’t know what’s going to happen.

He might move on still and Villa might sign someone else.”

Jhon Duran to West Ham Would Be a Surprising Move

It’s been quite a dramatic summer for Duran. Early on, it seemed inevitable that he would leave Villa to join West Ham, especially after he flashed the crossed Hammers sign during a live stream.

However, that move didn’t materialize as Lopetegui opted to bring in Niclas Füllkrug instead.

Ironically, the decision not to sign Duran backfired last weekend when he scored the winning goal for Aston Villa against West Ham at the London Stadium.

His celebration, which included what appeared to be an apology to the away fans, added another twist to the story.

Despite the twists and turns, it now seems that Duran’s future at Villa Park remains uncertain. Even so, a move to West Ham would still come as a surprise, given all that has transpired over the past few weeks.
