Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League clash against Leicester City will feature a newly appointed referee, as announced by the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s team came agonizingly close to securing a remarkable victory at the Etihad on Sunday, only for John Stones to equalize late in the game.

The match between Arsenal and Manchester City was intense, with tensions running high.

Leandro Trossard received a second yellow card for delaying the game by kicking the ball away, while Erling Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel Magalhaes’ head in frustration.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will be frustrated after being held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at the King Power Stadium, preventing them from securing their first win of the season.

Looking ahead, the Premier League has announced the referee appointments for this weekend’s games, and Samuel Barrott has been selected to officiate Arsenal’s upcoming clash with Leicester City.

Arsenal, who felt they deserved three points after their efforts against Manchester City, will aim to make amends in their encounter with a Leicester side still searching for their first Premier League victory of the season.

Barrott will be the referee for the Arsenal-Leicester game, with Scott Ledger and Wade Smith serving as his assistants.

Dean Whitestone will be the fourth official, while Paul Tierney is in charge of VAR, assisted by Sian Massey-Ellis.

Earlier this season, Barrott issued an apology for an error during the opening match between Crystal Palace and Brentford, where he prematurely blew the whistle for a foul in the box, preventing Eberechi Eze’s free-kick goal from standing, even though VAR could have cleared the incident (according to Sky Sports).

So far this season, Barrott has officiated four Premier League matches, though none of them involved Arsenal.

He has handed out 26 yellow cards, averaging about 6.5per game.
