“‘Awful’ – BBC Commentator Criticizes Leeds Star on Air Following Burnley Match”
BBC Commentator Scott Read Shocked by Mateo Joseph’s “Awful” Miss in Leeds United vs Burnley Match on September 14

The 20-year-old striker had an early opportunity to score at Elland Road, making a play on Maxime Esteve and finding himself face-to-face with James Trafford just 50 seconds into the game.
Despite being one-on-one with the Clarets goalkeeper, Joseph lost his composure and missed the chance, shooting wide of the far post.
This miss not only denied him a chance to give the Whites an early lead but also to net his second goal of the season.
In a live commentary on BBC Radio Lancashire on September 14 at 12:35pm, Read criticized the miss, saying, “It was a terrible mistake at the back and a major reprieve for Burnley.
In theory, they should be 1-0 down. But it’s a poor finish from Mateo Joseph.”
Despite still developing his finishing skills, Mateo Joseph had a golden opportunity to score early in the game, which could have been crucial, especially since Luca Koleosho capitalized on a blunder from Manor Solomon and scored against Illan Meslier.
With Patrick Bamford once again absent from the matchday squad, Daniel Farke has relied heavily on Joseph.
So far, this decision has been positive, as the Spaniard has contributed two assists in the game against Sheffield Wednesday and scored the opener in the 2-0 victory over Hull City.

However, due to his age and inexperience, Joseph is expected to make mistakes throughout the season.
His potential was recognized last season when many fans advocated for him to replace Bamford in the starting XI.
More game time then could have been beneficial for his development.
