BOMBSHELL TRANSFER EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle on the VERGE of Signing the BEST Striker on the PLANET – He’s LIGHTYEARS Better Than Vlahovic! This absolute MONSTER is about to turn St. James’ Park into a goal-scoring fortress. Vlahovic? Forgotten already. Newcastle fans, you might want to sit down for this one…

Newcastle United endured a disappointing 2025/26 campaign after the excitement of qualifying for the Champions League the previous season.

Eddie Howe’s side finished 12th in the Premier League, ending the campaign 11 points adrift of the top five and highlighting the scale of the challenge facing the club this summer.

A major factor behind their decline was the departure of star striker Alexander Isak.

The Swedish forward had scored 23 league goals during the previous campaign, and Newcastle struggled badly to replace his influence.

New arrivals Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa failed to make the desired impact, managing just nine league goals between them throughout the season.

As a result, strengthening the attack has become a top priority at St James’ Park. Newcastle have already explored several high-profile options, including former Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian international is available on a free transfer after leaving the Italian club, but concerns remain over his reported wage demands, which are believed to exceed £150,000 per week.

Chelsea are also monitoring his situation, adding further competition for his signature.

Another name under serious consideration is former Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez. Reports suggest Newcastle have already held discussions with the Uruguayan’s representatives and are keen to stay informed regarding his future.

Núñez is expected to become available on a free transfer after reaching an agreement to terminate his contract with Al Hilal.

Competition for the 26-year-old is expected to be intense, with Liverpool and several other Premier League clubs reportedly interested.

However, Newcastle may view him as the more attractive option compared to Vlahovic.

Núñez brings valuable Premier League experience, having scored 25 league goals in 95 appearances during his time with Liverpool.

His pace, movement, dribbling ability and aerial presence offer qualities Newcastle have lacked since Isak’s departure.

Former teammate Luis Suárez once described him as “one of the best strikers in the world,” underlining the belief in his potential.

With both Núñez and Vlahovic potentially available without a transfer fee, Newcastle have a significant opportunity to strengthen their frontline.

Yet if Howe’s side are serious about returning to Champions League contention, Núñez appears the more complete fit.

His experience in English football and broader attacking skill set could make him the ideal figure to lead Newcastle’s revival next season.
