Cody Drameh speaks out as Hull City announce their second summer signing

Hull City have announced their second signing of the summer, bringing in Cody Drameh from Leeds United on a three-year contract with an option for an additional year.

The 22-year-old right-back chose to move to the MKM Stadium, rejecting a new contract at Elland Road in favor of joining Hull to further his development.

As part of the deal, Hull will pay Leeds a nominal fee for securing Drameh’s signature, having outcompeted other clubs for the defender.

Drameh is Hull’s second summer acquisition, following the permanent signing of Ryan Giles from Luton Town. His versatility across the back four adds valuable depth to the defensive lineup, though right-back remains his primary position.

After successful loan spells with Cardiff City, Luton Town, and Birmingham City, Drameh is eager to find stability with the Tigers.

“I’m really happy to be here. It feels like it’s been coming for a bit of time for me,” Drameh said. “What attracted me was the owner and the interest the club showed in me. Everyone seemed like they really wanted me. It’s a pleasure to feel wanted and that was something that attracted me.

“It’s been a bit unstable for me – I’ve been around a lot – so now to finally settle down in Hull, and hopefully do some big things with Hull, is really nice. I’d say I’m an all-rounder. I like to get up and down, quite energetic, I like defending, one-v-ones and I can add something in attack.

Now it’s finally done, I’m looking forward to getting my head down, getting among the team and working with the coaches. I’m really looking forward to a positive season.”

During his time at Leeds United, Drameh made 10 appearances, debuting under Marcelo Bielsa in 2021. He now aims to become a key player for Hull City under head coach Tim Walter.
