Everton are in talks with Marseille over a deal for Iliman Ndiaye, aiming to make him their third signing of the summer. The 24-year-old forward, who has long been on Everton’s radar, would significantly enhance Sean Dyche’s attacking options if he joins Tim Iroegbunam and Jack Harrison at Finch Farm.
Ndiaye, previously linked to Everton, joined Marseille after leaving Sheffield United last summer. After a challenging year in France, Everton sees this summer as a prime opportunity to bring Ndiaye to Goodison Park, with director of football Kevin Thelwell spearheading the efforts.
Ndiaye’s addition would bolster an attack that struggled for goals last season. The Senegal international can lead the line, making him a potential replacement should Dominic Calvert-Lewin depart, or he could play a supporting striker role behind Calvert-Lewin or Beto.
Negotiations between Everton and Marseille are ongoing and progressing amid early transfer market activity. Everton recently secured midfielder Iroegbunam from Aston Villa, with winger Lewis Dobbin moving in the opposite direction, and confirmed Harrison’s loan return from Leeds United.
Additionally, Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman have agreed to contract extensions, while Idrissa Gueye’s contract was extended for another year, as Thelwell moves to strengthen last season’s squad.
