Cordero’s stint with Belgian side Westerlo is being labelled Newcastle United’s newest loan fiasco.

After a frustrating spell in Belgium, Cordero’s self-belief has likely taken a hit. Returning to a familiar environment, especially with a promotion-chasing club, may be exactly what he needs.
Ultimately, a top-of-the-table Segunda Liga side might provide the best platform for him to get back on track — and finally showcase the ability that persuaded Newcastle to sign him in the first place.
