“Balogun turns 37 next month, yet continues to perform at a high level—whether it’s European fixtures or games against Celtic,” he added.

“That tells me he takes care of himself. You won’t get 50 or 60 games out of him, but with proper management, his experience is invaluable.”

Balogun demonstrated his reliability once again by helping Rangers keep a clean sheet in their emphatic win over Aberdeen on Sunday.

Despite a season filled with inconsistency, the defensive veteran has remained a steady presence when called upon.
