Everton May Seek to Sign One More Player Before the Transfer Window Closes
Everton has made significant moves in the transfer market this month, bringing five new players to Goodison Park despite ongoing ownership issues.
However, the club has also seen departures, with Amadou Onana and Lewis Dobbin moving to Aston Villa, and Ben Godfrey joining Atalanta.
Despite signing Illiman Ndiaye, manager Sean Dyche may still seek another striker. According to Jack Rosser, Everton remains interested in Chelsea forward Armando Broja.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Everton throughout the summer, but no official offer has been made yet.
Broja has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and is eager for a transfer. The Sun journalist reports that Broja desires a permanent move, with Everton, Wolves, and Southampton all showing interest.
Chelsea is reportedly asking for around £25 million for the player. Everton could only afford this fee if Dominic Calvert-Lewin were sold.
Rosser noted on X: “Armando Broja will have talks with Enzo Maresca about an expected move after returning home. He wants a permanent transfer.
Chelsea wants £25 million; Wolves and Everton are interested, but only if Calvert-Lewin leaves. Southampton is interested but won’t meet the valuation.”
Calvert-Lewin was linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer, but the transfer did not materialize.
Manchester United has also shown interest, but there have been no developments in his situation.
It appears unlikely that Calvert-Lewin will depart Everton this summer, which could complicate Everton’s chances of signing Broja.
Although Broja has attracted interest from Italian clubs, securing an agreement will be challenging unless Chelsea lowers their asking price.
As long as Chelsea remains open to selling Broja, Everton may still pursue him, especially as the transfer window draws to a close.
