BBC pundit suggests transfer for Rangers star despite his performance against Man United.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live (23 January, 9:31 pm), Robinson discussed Cyriel Dessers’ future after the 30-year-old striker came off the bench to score an equalizer in Rangers’ eventual 2-1 loss to Manchester United.

Dessers, who has been linked with moves to various clubs during this transfer window, still holds significant value despite falling down the pecking order at Ibrox.

Robinson praised his talent and reputation, stating:

“I think there’s talk of him potentially moving on in this window if Rangers are to restructure. There’s a lot of value in Dessers.

He’s got a good reputation – not long ago, he was the Eredivisie Golden Boot winner. I think clubs across Europe are looking fondly at him.

“[He’s] fallen behind Igamane and Danilo at times in this Rangers lineup, but again, he’s not let it affect him.

He comes off the bench, does a really good job, and gets his goals.”

Dessers’ Transfer Future Uncertain After Heroics

Robinson’s praise was well-placed, as Dessers replaced Nedim Bajrami midway through the second half at Old Trafford and delivered a moment of brilliance in the 88th minute.

After shrugging off Harry Maguire, Dessers displayed exceptional skill, controlling the ball with a sensational first touch and firing a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Despite Rangers’ eventual defeat, Dessers’ goal highlighted the quality many Gers fans have been waiting to see.

It demonstrated he has the potential to be the team’s leading striker, even after a challenging few months.

However, with Hamza Igamane’s rapid rise and Dessers’ recent dip in form, a transfer before the 3 February deadline remains a possibility.
