“Club Chief Addresses £10m Leeds United Transfer Speculation Amid Permanent Exit Rumors”
Another potential exit from Leeds United has emerged this week.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director has dampened speculation that the club is ready to activate Rasmus Kristensen’s permanent transfer option, although he confirmed that it is being considered.
Kristensen, along with Jack Harrison, retained a loan exit clause in his contract when he left Leeds United.
The right-back opted to join Frankfurt for the 2024/25 season and has made an immediate impact, playing every minute of the Bundesliga season so far, alongside his former teammate, Robin Koch.
Leeds included a permanent option in Kristensen’s loan agreement, with reports suggesting the fee could range between £8 million and £10 million.
Kristensen’s strong performances have reportedly caught the attention of Frankfurt, with Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg stating that the club has “already decided” to secure his services on a permanent basis.
Plettenberg claims that the club’s leadership is “totally satisfied” with Kristensen’s performance and is planning to activate the option to buy, believed to be up to £10 million.
However, Timmo Hardung, Frankfurt’s sporting director, expressed his admiration for Kristensen while clarifying that no final decision has been reached.
“Rasmus has integrated very well with us,” Hardung told Fussball.News.
“We are very pleased to have him here, and I believe he enjoys being part of the team.
Of course, we are considering what role he could play at Eintracht Frankfurt in the future and whether he can become a permanent part of the squad. But we haven’t made any decisions yet.”
Kristensen has not only been a key player in the Bundesliga, but he has also started both of Frankfurt’s matches in the Europa League, contributing one goal and one assist.
His performances have drawn praise from the club’s hierarchy, indicating that a permanent deal is indeed on their radar.
Board member Markus Krösche has acknowledged the importance of securing Kristensen’s permanent signing, according to head coach Dino Toppmöller, who recently commented, “He’s already on it and doesn’t need my expertise.
He also sees that Rasmus is a very important factor for us. With his energy and power, Rasmus is crucial to our team.”
Toppmöller expressed satisfaction with Kristensen’s contributions from the outset, suggesting the player has the potential to become a fan favorite due to his commitment and performance.
“He has the potential to become a fan favourite,” Toppmöller stated in a recent interview with Kicker.
“He has the right attitude, shows dedication on the pitch, and possesses strong dueling skills. We are very happy with him, and we hope he continues in this vein.”
Leeds will be closely monitoring Kristensen’s form as they hope to secure a solid transfer fee for a player who struggled during his time at Elland Road.
Kristensen joined Leeds for £10 million from RB Salzburg in 2022 but struggled to adapt to the Premier League and was part of a defense that faced relegation challenges, which ultimately led to his loan move to AS Roma the following summer.
