If the club wants to close the gap on Celtic, raising the squad’s quality has to be the top priority for the incoming manager.”

When asked if there was one player Rangers should prioritize, Hutton pointed to Cerny.

“It’s hard to be specific without knowing the budget, but the first name on my list would be Cerny,” he explained.

“He’s on loan from Wolfsburg and has been vital this season.

Securing him on a permanent deal would be a strong step forward.

He’s had a real impact, and it’s the type of signing that can bring stability and quality.”

Hutton also highlighted the importance of bringing in homegrown talent, referencing Lyall Cameron’s imminent arrival.

“Building a solid Scottish core is essential. We know Lyall Cameron is set to join, and he brings a good level of quality,” Hutton added.

“If Rangers can add more players like him, along with a few creative types, they’ll be heading in the right direction.”
