
The son of NBA icon Larry Bird was apprehended over the weekend on suspicion of attempting to hit his former girlfriend with a vehicle following a heated altercation at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, as stated by CBS Chicago.
The Indy Star reveals that 21-year-old Connor Bird was detained by the Indiana University police department on Sunday. Allegedly, the dispute began with an argument, during which Bird reportedly hurled his phone at the young woman, according to police statements provided to the newspaper.
Subsequently, the confrontation escalated in a parking lot, culminating in Bird allegedly making two attempts to strike her with his car, as reported by CBS Chicago.
Per the station’s account, Bird faces charges including battery causing injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and possession of marijuana.
The newspaper notes that Bird has been released on bond from Monroe County Jail.
