The Tottenham vice-captain praised Postecoglou and his staff, expressing his satisfaction with their work.

Romero told Telemundo (as quoted by BBC Sport): “He’s a great coach.

We saw it in the first season. In this second one, we’ve had many injuries.

Players are the first to be criticized, and if we lose 10 games, the staff may change, but no one discusses what’s actually happening.

We’re very happy with the staff, and we love how they work and the football they try to play. We’ll try to move on quickly.”

Despite the mounting pressure, Postecoglou’s job is not in immediate danger, as Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman, has a consistent track record in his managerial decisions.

Over the last five years, Levy has dismissed coaches when it became clear that the players had lost faith in them.

That doesn’t appear to be the case with Postecoglou, whose players still support him.
