Crystal Palace Boss Delivers Harsh Verdict on Leicester City Situation, Says ‘It Makes No Sense’

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has delivered a scathing assessment of Odsonne Edouard’s loan spell at Leicester City, dismissing the idea of recalling the striker as “nonsensical.”

Edouard, who moved to Leicester on loan during deadline day, has struggled to make an impact, starting just two matches since arriving at the King Power Stadium.

With speculation rife that Leicester may terminate the loan, Glasner has made it clear the striker will not return to Palace, citing a lack of playing opportunities at Selhurst Park.

“We always monitor our loan players,” Glasner explained. “But, honestly, with three games this week, Odsonne [Edouard] is not my top priority.

“I’m not familiar with the exact contract details, but bringing him back makes no sense. If he’s not playing at Leicester, why would he play for Crystal Palace?

The situation hasn’t changed since the summer.

He chose Leicester for more minutes, but that hasn’t worked out. It’s up to him and his agent now.”

Glasner suggested Edouard may need another loan move to gain game time.

“If he’s not getting minutes at Leicester, he might find another loan. But bringing him back to Palace to play isn’t an option. It’s about competition and performance.

Every loan deal is clear about what each party expects: Leicester wants a player to win games; Odsonne wants minutes to improve; and we want him to return in better shape.

“If he’s not playing at Leicester, his situation is worse than before. Bringing him back wouldn’t benefit anyone—it just doesn’t make sense.”
