“Daniel Levy SLAMS Brakes on Tottenham’s Blockbuster Deal for ‘MEGA Superstar’ Begging to Join!”

Thomas Frank will be eager for Tottenham Hotspur to ramp up their transfer activity soon, with pre-season fast approaching and significant improvements needed after last season’s disappointing 17th-place Premier League finish.

Spurs are back in the Champions League, but their current squad needs bolstering—and fast.

One major target for the North London club was Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze. However, negotiations have now “decelerated,” with Spurs beginning to shift their focus toward alternative attacking options.

According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Tottenham have slowed their pursuit of Eze, despite Frank’s admiration for the player.

The Brentford manager had reportedly urged Spurs to target Eze this summer.

Furthermore, the player himself was said to be “very keen” on the idea of joining Tottenham if the opportunity presented itself.

Tottenham’s interest in Eze isn’t new—they’ve been tracking him since his days at Queens Park Rangers in the Championship back in 2019.

At 27, Eze had once again emerged as a top target this summer, but that interest now appears to be cooling. Instead, the club is actively exploring other offensive reinforcements.

TBR Football reports that Spurs have also opened talks regarding Mohammed Kudus, with chairman Daniel Levy said to be a strong admirer of the West Ham star. He believes Frank could get the best out of the Ghanaian international.

At this stage of the transfer window, Kudus seems to be the most advanced option on Tottenham’s shortlist, though Eze remains in contention alongside Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

Eze, recently labelled a “superstar,” continues to attract interest from top Premier League clubs. Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa are all monitoring the situation, while interest from overseas clubs remains in play.

The Gunners are keeping close tabs on the winger as they weigh up a potential move.

Newcastle are actively pursuing attacking reinforcements and appreciate Eze’s quality, while Aston Villa have also expressed interest. However, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is under no pressure to sell.

Like in the case of Marc Guehi, there will be no cut-price deals. Eze’s release clause stands at £60 million, with an additional £8 million in bonuses.

Though Palace are open to receiving the fee in instalments, any deal is expected to be complex and hard-fought.
