Leicester City winger Silko Thomas has been forced to return to his parent club after sustaining a significant injury while on loan at Wigan Athletic.

The 20-year-old suffered a knee injury during Wigan’s recent League One clash against Lincoln City, an unfortunate setback that is expected to keep him sidelined for up to five months.

Wigan Athletic confirmed his return to Leicester in an official statement, highlighting the severity of his injury and the club’s support for his recovery.

“Silko Thomas has returned to Leicester City for treatment after sustaining a knee injury in Saturday’s draw with Lincoln City,” Wigan stated.

“The 20-year-old was stretchered off in the first half at the Brick Community Stadium and is likely to spend an extended period on the sidelines.

Thomas, who has made 31 appearances for Latics during the 2024/25 campaign, will now undergo rehabilitation at his parent club.”
