Mohamed Diomande has emerged as a potential summer signing for Everton, with the Premier League side looking to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.

Despite Rangers enduring a difficult campaign, the Ivorian midfielder delivered a solid individual performance.

He netted six goals and contributed nine assists across all competitions, showcasing his influence in the middle of the park.

Diomande, 23, initially arrived at Rangers on loan from Danish club FC Nordsjælland in January 2024.

His move was later made permanent for a reported fee of around £4 million. However, his future at Ibrox may already be under discussion.

According to the Daily Express, Everton manager David Moyes has placed Diomande on a shortlist of potential recruits.

The Merseyside club faces a midfield reshuffle, with Abdoulaye Doucouré departing on a free transfer and Orel Mangala returning to Lyon after the end of his loan spell.

Diomande’s versatility is said to be a key factor in Everton’s interest. Comfortable both as a holding midfielder and in more advanced roles, the Ivory Coast international could provide tactical flexibility to Moyes’ setup.

Adding another layer to the speculation is Diomande’s familiarity with Everton’s former recruitment chiefs. Rangers’ new sporting director Kevin Thelwell and technical director Dan Purdy—both of whom joined from Everton—will already be well-acquainted with the player, potentially facilitating a deal.

Diomande isn’t the only Rangers player linked with a move away. Dutch centre-back Robin Pröpper could also be on the verge of an exit after a challenging debut season in Scotland.

The 31-year-old, signed last summer by then-manager Philippe Clement to provide leadership in defence, has struggled with injuries and inconsistent performances.

Reports from the Netherlands suggest that Pröpper may return to his former club FC Twente, where he made 115 appearances between 2021 and 2024.

The Ibrox club’s recent takeover by 49ers Enterprises is expected to provide financial backing for the incoming manager—due to be announced next week.

Another departure that appears imminent is that of Ridvan Yilmaz. The Turkish international left-back endured an injury-hit season, making just 24 appearances.

He missed the final stretch of the campaign after suffering an injury during the Europa League quarter-final loss to Athletic Bilbao in April.

Turkish outlet Aspor reports that a deal has been agreed for Yilmaz to return to Besiktas, two years after he left the club to join Rangers.

A move back to his homeland has been rumoured for months, and it now seems close to completion.
