Everton has made several additions to their squad this summer, including the signings of Tim Ireogbunam and Jesper Lindstrom to bolster their midfield.
However, manager Sean Dyche is still looking to further enhance his midfield options before the transfer window closes, and he has identified Italian U21 international Bove as a key target.
According to Di Marzio, Everton is showing strong interest in signing Bove and might make a move for the 21-year-old before the end of the month.
Bove has made 31 appearances in Serie A and a total of 45 across all competitions for Roma.
Despite his potential value to Roma, it remains uncertain whether the club will agree to sell one of their important players.
Bove’s contract with Roma runs until 2028, and his current market value is estimated at €18 million (£15 million) by Transfermarkt.
Bove is known for his role as a roaming playmaker with a notable ability to regain possession.
According to Fbref, after 24 Serie A matches last season, Bove led his team in counter-pressing actions and ranked third in tackles won and fourth in fouls earned.
His tackle success rate places him in the top percentile of midfielders, while he maintains a passing accuracy of 83.7 percent.
His pressing and tackling abilities make him a suitable fit for Dyche’s tactical system, while his attacking creativity adds versatility that would benefit Everton.
Bove’s addition would provide much-needed strength to Everton’s midfield, offering both defensive solidity and transitional threat.
Everton began their 2024-25 Premier League season with a 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.
They will aim to bounce back when they face Tottenham Hotspur in North London on Saturday, August 24th.
