Done Deal: West Ham Signs Young Talent Following Arsenal Departure

West Ham United confirmed on their official website on July 5 that 18-year-old Luis Brown has signed a professional contract with the club, returning after spending ten years with Arsenal.

Under-21 lead coach Mark Robson expressed his delight, saying, “It’s a fantastic day for Luis and the whole Brown family. It’s great that tradition is continuing, and I’m sure he’ll work as hard as possible to try to emulate Kenny and Ken Sr.”

According to Jeorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth on May 18, Brown advanced through the ranks at Arsenal but wasn’t offered a professional contract by the Gunners.

While many supporters at the London Stadium may not be familiar with Brown, they should know that the young defender is deeply committed to the club. Despite his years at Arsenal’s Hale End, his roots have always been with West Ham.

Luis Brown is the son of former Hammers defender and current Academy Manager Kenny Brown, and the grandson of the club’s oldest living player, Ken Brown Sr. This connection means the England youth international understands what it means to be part of West Ham.
