“Dreadful” – Alan Shearer criticizes Everton and West Ham after witnessing fans’ reactions
Alan Shearer unimpressed by West Ham and Everton’s goalless Premier League draw.

Everton faced West Ham at London Stadium on 9 November, with both teams struggling to make an impact as the match ended in a goalless draw.
On The Rest Is Football podcast (11 November), Alan Shearer was blunt about the game, noting that even fans in the stadium appeared visibly bored. “Dreadful,” he lamented.
“The cameras even showed people yawning in the stands, just as bored as I was. It was the worst football game I’ve seen in a long time, and the quality from both teams was awful.”
Everton’s Lack of Progress Under Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche’s appointment in January 2023 was seen as a smart move, given Everton’s battle against relegation.
The former Burnley manager succeeded in keeping the club in the Premier League despite various challenges, including points deductions.
However, Everton fans hoped for more advancement this season after years of struggles.
So far, Dyche hasn’t been able to push the team forward, raising questions about his position.

The Friedkin Group’s anticipated takeover could further impact his future at the club, leaving uncertainty about his tenure.
West Ham was also below par in this matchup, yet Everton failed to capitalize, underscoring how Dyche’s side remains stuck in a challenging place.
