Mikel Arteta’s Thoughts on Leicester City as He Faces Ruud van Nistelrooy Again

Arteta Gains Injury Boost Ahead of Clash with Ruud van Nistelrooy at King Power Stadium

Arsenal defender Ben White is fit to return against Leicester City, providing a crucial injury boost for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta will be without key attackers Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus. However, he now has a full squad available in midfield and defense.

White, sidelined since November after surgery, is ready to play and could feature at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking on Friday, Arteta confirmed: “Ben has been training more regularly now, so we still have to manage his load, but he’s going to be available, yes.”

The last time Arsenal faced Leicester, Steve Cooper was in charge.

Now, Arteta prepares to go up against Ruud van Nistelrooy, whom he previously faced when Arsenal and PSV Eindhoven met in the 2022-23 Europa League group stage.

The Gunners won at the Emirates, but PSV triumphed in the Netherlands.

This time, they meet at the King Power Stadium, where Leicester have lost their last four Premier League games without scoring.

Arteta anticipates a tough challenge, saying: “Very difficult. At home against top opponents, they make life very difficult.

“I know Ruud very well and how he sets up his teams, and you can see the spirit there. They are very much alive and a threat.”
