EFL Chief Emerges as Leading Candidate for Everton Role Amid TFG Overhaul

TFG Targets Angus Kinnear as Key Figure in Everton’s Restructuring

Everton’s New Era Under TFG: Moyes’ Impact and Backroom Restructuring

The American owners, TFG, finalized their takeover of Everton from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024, bringing renewed optimism among the fanbase.

David Moyes has all but secured Premier League survival since replacing Sean Dyche, a managerial switch that has significantly benefited the club.

Meanwhile, David Weir has emerged as a potential candidate for a backroom role, with the Friedkins planning major structural changes at Goodison Park.

TFG’s Executive Overhaul: Kinnear in Their Sights

According to The Telegraph (20 February), TFG are working on a new executive framework and have identified Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear as a key target.

The Friedkins have enlisted Nolan Partners to lead the search for a new CEO, and Kinnear has emerged as a prime candidate.

However, whether Leeds will allow an integral figure to depart, especially with their Premier League promotion push, remains uncertain.

TFG’s Bold Approach with Kinnear Links

Since taking over, TFG have made decisive moves that have quickly distanced them from Moshiri’s tenure, with Dyche’s sacking being the most significant.

The former Burnley boss struggled at Goodison Park, and Moyes’ arrival has only further exposed his shortcomings.

Currently, Everton sit 14th in the Premier League, riding an impressive unbeaten run. Moyes has maximized the potential of a thin squad, steering the club away from relegation danger.

Without his leadership, Everton might still be battling in the drop zone, a scenario that seemed likely under Dyche.

The Toffees now hold a 13-point lead over 18th-place Ipswich Town, allowing fans to feel increasingly confident about maintaining their top-flight status.

Looking ahead, the future appears promising for Everton.

Adding someone of Kinnear’s caliber to the executive team would only strengthen their resurgence, signaling further ambition from TFG as they reshape the club.
