Everton keen on 13-goal striker as they push for his signature – report
Everton remain linked with Hamza Igamane following their reported interest in the Rangers striker during the winter transfer window.
Everton’s interest in Igamane was widely speculated in January as David Moyes sought to strengthen his attacking options for the latter half of the season.
Reports suggested the Toffees were close to securing the 22-year-old from Rangers, just six months after his move from AS FAR Rabat.
However, no deal materialized, and Everton’s only signing of the window was Carlos Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo.
Everton renew pursuit of Igamane but face competition
Despite missing out on Igamane, Everton have not suffered, with Beto in superb form, scoring five goals in six Premier League matches since February.
However, this has not diminished their interest in the Rangers forward.
According to Africafoot, Everton have re-entered the race to sign the Morocco Under-23 international ahead of the summer transfer window.
The outlet reported on Saturday (8 March) that multiple clubs from England, Spain, and France have expressed interest, with Everton among them.
The Toffees will not have an easy path to securing Igamane’s signature, as Sevilla and Marseille are also keen.
Sevilla, in particular, have been impressed after receiving positive scouting reports, Africafoot claims.
Igamane could be part of Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock transition
Everton are preparing for a fresh start when they move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season.
A major squad overhaul could also be on the horizon, with 13 players, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja, set to be out of contract.
With key forwards potentially departing, reinforcing the attacking lineup will be a priority for Moyes.
This makes Igamane a logical target for Everton as they build for the future at their new home.
